Prior to founding Capitol Consultantsin 1992, Carol had over a decade of experience in government andpublic relations as a senior associate and partner in several reputableMadison firms. Carol has worked successfully in political campaigns,issue referenda, fundraising, special events and in the state legislature.From her experience, Carol has developed an excellent understandingof both the legislative and political process as well as a strongstatewide network of contacts.
Anthony T. Langenohl
Vice President
Tony Langenohl is Vice President of Capitol Consultants, a firm specializing in government relations, public affairs and issues-based grassroots advocacy. In addition to his work at Capitol Consultants, Inc., Tony is the managing partner and a co-founder of Capitol Opinion, a Wisconsin based research firm that combines cutting edge research techniques with the political savvy and experience of some of Wisconsin’s top political minds.
Before joining Capitol Consultants, Tony was Special Assistant to Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson. As Special Assistant to Governor Thompson, Tony was the Governor’s traveling press and policy aide. In addition, Tony held several other positions in and out of the Thompson Administration, including Deputy Communications Director of Governor Thompson’s historic fourth term election in 1998, an education policy aide to the Governor and Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Department of Administration. In addition, Tony has worked on and advised numerous campaigns, including; gubernatorial, congressional, legislative, issue-based and judicial campaigns in and out of Wisconsin.
Tony is also Deputy Executive Director of Competitive Wisconsin, a statewide non-partisan consortium of agriculture, business, education and labor leaders that focuses exclusively on developing and advocating statewide policies to retain and grow existing businesses and create new businesses.
Tony also serves on the Board of Directors of the Madison Children’s Museum, one of the top rated children’s museums in the nation and is a co-founder and member of the Board of TGT Charity, Inc., a not-for-profit charity formed in honor of Governor and Secretary Tommy G. Thompson, the longest-serving Governor of the State of Wisconsin and the 19th Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The mission of the TGT Charity is to benefit individuals who choose to study and work in the health care field, by sustaining programs and education endeavors.
Shawn Pfaff
Senior Associate
Shawn Pfaff is a Senior Associate with Capitol Consultants, a firm specializing in government relations, public affairs and issues-based grassroots advocacy. Before joining Capitol Consultants, Shawn was the Deputy Political Director of Governor Jim Doyle's 2006 gubernatorial campaign. In addition Shawn worked for three and a half years in the Office of Governor Jim Doyle as an Agency Affairs advisor, focusing on agriculture and renewable fuels and as an External Affairs manager working with community and municipal and business leaders all across the state.
Before joining the Doyle Administration Shawn worked spent three years in Washington, D.C. serving as a legislative aide for U.S. Representative Earl Pomeroy (D-ND) and U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) working on agricultural and trade issues. Shawn has a Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison's La Follette School of Public Affairs and an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Jenny Parchem
Executive AssistantJenny Parchem is an Executive Assistant with Capitol Consultants. Prior to joining Capitol Consultants, Jenny was a Strategic Communications Coordinator for the Communications Division at American Family Insurance’s National Headquarters in Madison, where she was an editorial assistant for three publications; administrative assistant for the manager and director; she was also tasked with sending and archiving of corporate messages and communications; coordinating seminars, classes and conferences for the Communications Division.
